All of these changes led to her getting healthy, strengthening her body (and mind), and losing 100 pounds!

You?ll definitely want to hear her inspiring story, so please listen to the episode and share what you think in the comment?s section below!

Becca Bio (from her About page):

?

???It[']s been a long journey, but I?m in a much better place today. I still feel like I have a long way to go, but I don?t really see an end in sight anymore? I hope you can find encouragement in realizing you don?t have to have it all together to effect positive changes in your health and fitness.

I?ve accomplished many of my goals. I am healthy and fit, even if I don?t have visible abs and 10% body fat. ?I?ve learned that food is not the enemy and I am so much more focused today on making my fitness goals than on seeing a certain number on the scale. I have fallen in love with heavy lifting. I still have good days and bad ones, but this is a lifestyle I?m on, and I know I?ll keep pressing on.?

You can learn more about Becca at her blog ?Momma Muscles?!

This week?s quote:

?Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.???Thomas Jefferson

In this episode, you?ll hear Becca share how she

? changed her mindset to overcome eating disorders and get healthy

? decided not to do anything to lose weight that she wouldn?t do to maintain her loss

? repaired her metabolism using a metabolic reset

? and much more!

Dalhousie University GIS Prof seeks solution to student ignorance of geography

A cool story on a popular topic that rears its head every year or so, students and their lack of geographic skills and understanding of the Earth. Imagine a group of Canadian University students not being able to locate the Atlantic Ocean on a map! Indeed, this is the state of geographic literacy in many countries? Buying vs. Building | The Buyer's Agent Blog

Buying a Home in Asheville North CarolinaHaving a home custom-built to your specifications can be expensive. But are you ready to take on remodeling and updating an older home to meet your needs?

A remodel can often be expensive and in the end, is less satisfying ? and finishing a project yourself, without experience, can result in the purchase of costly tools and the loss of your valuable time.

Many prospective homeowners want to build their dream homes instead of buying ones. They want to own brand new houses with all of the features they believe meet their dream-home checklists. Before you make any decisions, however, you should be aware of some important financial considerations. Take into consideration the following points:

Energy Efficiency

Energy-efficient design has become an important argument for building a home. With energy costs in a seemingly endless upward spiral, the prospect of enjoying lower energy bills forever is attractive. A state-of-the-art, energy-efficient new home may work wonders for your household budget every month. Older homes, while charming and full of character, can be energy drains because of outdated design and amenities. You might consider energy-efficient upgrades for an existing house, but such home improvements can be costly.

Deferred Maintenance

Maintenance and repair, a common initial expenditure when buying an existing house, is not an issue with a newly built home. Everything is new and hopefully made of quality materials. Not all existing homes have deferred maintenance issues, as some homeowners are conscientious about maintenance. However, with a newly built home, you can be quite comfortable knowing that you will not need a new roof, heating system or an expensive plumbing or electrical overhaul. Should a system bring problems in a brand new home, the warranty should cover any reinstalls.

Annual Maintenance

The obligation of annual maintenance, if not addressed, can result in a hefty repair bill down the road. If you build a high-quality home, the out-of-pocket annual maintenance cost should be less than with most existing homes. In some cases, the annual maintenance costs of an older home may be similar to the cost of a newly built house.

?Appliances, Floor Plans and Decorating

What do appliances, floor plans and decorating all have in common? They eventually become outdated. When you buy an existing home you run the risk of inheriting outdated features that will need to be replaced. For example, older home architects and builders spent little time designing floor plans to maximize traffic flow for family rooms near kitchens. These floor plans, featuring multiple segmented rooms and long hallways are seldom seen in new homes. Replacing old appliances or renovating outdated, wasteful floor plans could be costly.

Construction Costs

In addition to furniture, appliances and small d?cor, consider the costs of building materials and labor. This financial consideration often makes buying an existing home look like the better choice. The simple truth: A home built in the 1970s or 1980s cost less to construct than a similar home in present dollars. The more complex, cloudy issue is new home prices tend to reflect cost-plus-profit issues, while existing home prices are ?set? by location and what a buyer is willing to pay.

The Bottom Line

As you can see, there is no right or wrong option. There are obvious advantages to building and buying a newly completed home. However, should a new home be built with substandard quality materials or workmanship, buying a high-quality, existing house that has been well-maintained, would be a better financial choice.

Regardless of your personal preference, you should be aware of financial issues with both options. Be sure to budget sufficient funds or have a financing plan (mortgage, home equity line-of-credit, other funding) to cover hidden costs, moving to your new home, making necessary repairs and upgrading outdated items.

Ranking Baseball's Most Volatile Clubhouse Cancers

Ozzie Guillen is the most quotable, most disruptive manager in baseball. He's not managing right now, but he's still looking for a team, which is why he is eligible for this list.

When he's not supporting Fidel Castro or telling the media he wants his team to be hated, Guillen enjoys dropping some of the funniest quotes in baseball.

Let's take a look at a few from the year 2011. Keep in mind these were all in a 12-month span (via Yahoo! Sports):

Speaking on Bobby Jenks' outspokenness after moving to Boston:

Am I going to say anything bad about [Bobby Jenks]? I'm not going to waste my time.

...

I wish I was mad about it, because I will rip his throat [out].

Standing up for Juan Pierre:

As long as JP is here, he's playing. [If] people don't like it ...? I wish I could say what I think, but I'm not going to be in trouble. I'd be all over, CNN, Playboy Channel, everywhere. But I'm not going to say it. That's the first time I'm going to keep it to myself.

Discussing the?Paul-Star campaign to elect Paul Konerko to the 2011 All-Star team:

He needs the money; he's kinda broke. The poor man, he needs $200,000 more.

Hating on Sean Penn for his love of Venezuela:

Sean Penn, if you love Venezuela please move to Venezuela for a year ? But rent a house in Guarenas or Guatire to see how long you last clown.

And, of course, he thinks he's the man:

I'm the Charlie Sheen of baseball, without drugs and a prostitute.

Oh Ozzie, you're so silly.

Teen, abductor stood out in Idaho wilderness

BOISE, Idaho (AP) ? Almost from the moment he laid eyes on 16-year-old Hannah Anderson and her abductor, James Lee DiMaggio, former Idaho county sheriff Mark John was swept with the feeling that something just didn't seem right about the pair.

Initially it was the lack of openness on the trail, a reluctance to engage in the polite exchange of banter or adventures like so many other recreationists John has encountered during his various horseback excursions into Idaho's rugged backcountry.

Then John and his partners on horseback puzzled why Anderson and DiMaggio were hiking in the opposite direction of their stated destination, the Salmon River.

But more than anything, it was their gear, or lack of it. Neither was sporting hiking boots or rain gear. The 40-year-old DiMaggio, described as an avid hiker in his home state of California, was toting only a light pack. It even appeared Anderson was wearing pajama bottoms.

"They just didn't fit," said the 71-year-old John, who retired as Gem County sheriff in 1996. "He might have been an outdoorsman in California, but he was not an outdoorsman in Idaho. ... Red flags kind of went up."

At a news conference Sunday in Boise, John and his three riding mates shared the kind of details from their encounters with Anderson and DiMaggio that helped focus the massive manhunt and rescue effort on a southwest corner of wilderness in the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness, a 3,600-square-mile roadless preserve in the heart of Idaho.

On Saturday, after searchers spotted the pair by air, two highly-specialized FBI hostage teams moved in on ground, ultimately rescuing Anderson and killing DiMaggio in a shootout at their encampment at a remote, alpine lake.

Anderson was immediately transported to an unidentified hospital. She was expected to be reunited with her father, Brett Anderson, earlier Sunday, but authorities did not disclose any details of their meeting.

DiMaggio is also suspected of killing Anderson's mother and brother at his home in Southern California.

On Sunday, FBI agents returned to process the scene at the camp at Morehead Lake, about 8 miles inside the wilderness border and 40 miles east of the central Idaho town of Cascade.

But authorities made clear Sunday that the rescue may have taken longer if not for the chance encounter with John and the other riders, who included John's wife Christa, 68, and Mike Young, 62, and his wife, Mary Young, 61.

The four riders had a second encounter with Anderson and DiMaggio later Wednesday, this one at the lake as they were getting ready to head back down the trail. The Youngs and Johns recalled seeing Anderson soak her feet in the lake and again avoid interaction. Still, nothing about their behavior raised suspicion that DiMaggio was wanted for murder and kidnapping.

"If she was sending us signals that she was in trouble, we didn't key in on it," said Mary Young.

It wasn't until Thursday afternoon when the Johns returned home and saw the girl's photographs on the news that they made a connection. After confirming with the Youngs, Mark John immediately called Idaho State Police, setting off the investigation in Idaho.

On Friday, police found DiMaggio's car, hidden under brush at a trailhead on the border of the wilderness area. Details about the operation that ended in Hannah's rescue are being released slowly.

FBI spokesman Jason Pack said the rescue teams were dropped by helicopter about 2 1/2 hours away from where Anderson and DiMaggio were spotted by the lake. Pack said the team had to hike with up to 100 pounds of tactical gear along a rough trail characterized by steep switchbacks and treacherous footing.

The teams then surrounded the camp and waited until Anderson and DiMaggio were no longer near each other before moving in, and ultimately killing DiMaggio. Few other details about the shootout are being released pending an automatic investigation by FBI agents of everything that occurred before, during and after the shooting.

Valley County Coroner Nathan Hess said he hadn't yet received DiMaggio's body, but would be responsible for issuing a death certificate and determining whether an autopsy should be performed. Hess said he wasn't sure when his part in the investigation would begin.

The case began when the charred bodies of Hannah Anderson's mother, Christina Anderson, 44, and the teen's 8-year-old brother, Ethan Anderson, were found in DiMaggio's burning house outside San Diego, near the Mexico border.

DiMaggio was close to the family. Christina Anderson's husband, Brett Anderson, has described him as a best friend and said the children thought of him as an uncle.

Authorities have said DiMaggio had an "unusual infatuation" with Hannah, although the father said he never saw any strange behavior.

An Amber Alert was issued, and tips led investigators to Oregon after DiMaggio and the teen were reportedly spotted there.

Brett Anderson has not returned telephone messages left Sunday by The Associated Press. But he issued a statement to the media Saturday expressing relief his daughter is safe.

Hannah Darby, one of Hannah Anderson's closest friends, was elated by the news.

"I'm probably going to make a really big basket with all of her favorite things in it," she said. "It will have candy and things that are pink."

DeKalb teen stays with bikers to help tornado victims

DeKALB ? It may be the middle of August, but 17-year-old Isaac Truckenbrod isn?t preparing to go back to school.

Truckenbrod, who is home-schooled, is readying for a three-month stay with a group of motorcyclists in Oklahoma. He will pick up where he left off last month with recovery efforts after tornadoes ravaged part of that state.

?I was talking to my parents and decided that I would rather help the people down there than sit in DeKalb,? Truckenbrod said. ?My parents said that as long as I could maintain my studies, it would be fine with them.?

Boy Scout Troop 33, which is based out of the First Lutheran Church in DeKalb, returned from a week?s worth of recovery efforts near Moore, Okla., on July 7, but it left Truckenbrod behind for an additional two weeks.

When the group, which included eight boys and two adults, first reached Oklahoma, its members found they could have the most effect away from the Moore area that garnered the most headlines. A tornado the day before had deeply hit a mobile home neighborhood called Steelman Estates near Shawnee, Okla.

?Out of 94 homes, 83 were destroyed,? Scoutmaster Cliff Golden said. ?... All the agencies came to their aid, but then the very next day the Moore tornado hit, and everyone left because they needed to. ... Whatever we did, we wanted to do something that would have the most impact. That was definitely the place.?

The Scouts met up with a motorcycle group called the U.S. Defenders that had set up a relief camp.

?We drove up, and they applauded our arrival,? Golden said. ?I was surprised by that. ... They were expecting a semi very soon, and until we got there, they didn?t have a crew to unload it.?

The troop handed out gift cards to those in need, helped demolish homes using safety gear donated by 3M and assisted with cooking duties. Not long into their stay there, the bikers took Truckenbrod under their wing, and two days before the Scouts were to depart for home, the Defenders asked Truckenbrod to stay.

?In a day?s time, I managed to convince my parents that it would be safe for me to stay with a group of bikers in a disaster zone,? he said. ?It?s not usual to leave a Scout behind 800 miles from home.?

The bikers took to calling Truckenbrod by his new nickname ? Scout ? and tasked him with cooking to help feed between 50 and 200 people daily, unloading trucks and various odd jobs.

Golden said his troop has never thought twice about traveling to help others. Members of his troop have taken trips to help after Hurricanes Ike, Katrina and Sandy.

?Typically you think of Boy Scouts as out backpacking, climbing mountains or scuba diving ? those things,? Golden said. ?And we?ve traveled a thousand miles or whereever to do those things, but we thought, well, if we can travel to do those things, then we can travel to do these things.?

There are 14 hours, 44 minutes remaining to comment on this story.

Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel returns to practice, says he's 'good to go'

GAINESVILLE | Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel felt just fine following his first practice since an appendectomy.

Driskel said Friday he ?didn?t have any pain, no issues? while returning eight days after emergency surgery.

?Everything felt good in my stomach,? said Driskel, who was medically cleared to return Thursday. ?I thought I threw the ball really well and thought we had a good day offensively.?

Driskel?s improving health was good news for the Gators, who needed something positive after a rash of injuries, some of them season-ending issues.

The Gators lost senior receiver/kick returner Andre Debose and freshman linebacker Matt Rolin for the year with torn knee ligaments. Defensive tackle Damien Jacobs (sprained knee) and safety Jaylen Watkins (sprained foot) will be sidelined at least a week, and freshman offensive lineman Rod Johnson had surgery Friday to repair torn meniscus in his right knee. Johnson will miss at least three weeks.

?It?s unfortunate and frustrating for everyone involved,? coach Will Muschamp said. ?You can stomach [them] a little better because football?s a tough game. Sometimes those things happen. ? You hate to be hard about it, but that?s part of the game, and they understand that when they play.?

Driskel missed six days of practice, but was in meetings and on the field, so he doesn?t believe he?s far behind in preparation.

?I think I?m up to speed,? he said. ?Second year in the offense means there?s not really anything I haven?t done yet. I think I?m good to go.?

Driskel will have to go through the NCAA-mandated acclimation phase, meaning he will practice two days in shorts and two more days in shells before he can don full pads.

?I?m sure I won?t take a hit until the first game, but I?m sure I could right now,? Driskel said. ?We haven?t tested or anything like that. Everything seems fine.?

Muschamp had no update on running back Matt Jones, who is recovering from a viral infection.

(AP) ? A western Michigan family welcomed their 12th child. And, shocker, it's a boy ? just like the other 11.

Jay and Kateri Schwandt of Rockford believed the latest baby might break the gender streak, especially after Kateri, known as Teri, was nine days past her due date. That was unusual for her pregnancies. But as it turned out, it was hardly a game-changer as a nurse at a Grand Rapids hospital announced delivery of another boy.

Tucker was 7 pounds, 12 ounces.

"Of course. There was a chuckle in the whole room," Teri, 38, said told The Associated Press on Thursday. "I looked at my husband, and we exchanged a knowing smile. When they say it's a boy, I think, OK, no problem. I've got this. We know what we're doing."

Tyler is the oldest son at 21. When the school year starts, three Schwandt boys will be in high school, while five brothers are in lower grades. That leaves three more at home with Teri.

The Schwandts, who live north of Grand Rapids, consider themselves devout Roman Catholics who don't believe in using birth control and put the size of their family in God's hands. Teri comes from a family of 14 kids. But she's not the only member of her own family committed to the cause.

She has a sister in the Detroit area, Kate Osberger, who has 10 children of her own. Yep, all sons.

"That's amazing. This is a miracle," said Dr. Bob Barbieri, who researches fertility issues and is chairman of obstetrics and gynecology at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. "It appears there is some type of genetic determination in some families that have a lot of girls or a lot of boys. It's not well understood. It's more than a statistical oddity."

A large brood brings many challenges, regardless of gender.

Daily trips to the grocery store and usually a weekly stop at a warehouse store when possible. School lunches can mean going through an entire loaf of bread each day. The Schwandts have a 15-passenger van ? "the big bus" ? that carries the clan to family gatherings and Sunday Mass. It helps that some boys are old enough to drive.

"I'll call and say I'm stuck. I need you to pick up Wesley from preschool," Teri said. "There aren't too many kids who get to know the preschool teacher."

At home, half of the 12 sleep in two bedrooms with bunk beds. Teri has a rule of no more than one pair of shoes for each kid in the entryway. Once the boys hit sixth grade, they do their own laundry.

"Someone's responsible for unloading the dishwasher and loading it. Someone vacuums the stairs," said Jay, 39, who has a land surveying business. "We heat the house with wood. We're cutting wood, hauling it and stacking it. They may not like it but they know they need to pitch in."

Teri said she's only known the gender of two babies before they were born. Believing a girl might arrive this time, the family settled on Jaynie for a name, a play on Jay's name. It wasn't needed, of course.

"He would love a little girl," Teri said. "He's never done a daddy-daughter dance."

Maybe he'll still get the chance.

"Possibly," Teri said of more children. "We never close that door."

CBS, Time Warner head into Week 2 of standoff

CBS, Time Warner blackout: It's not just about profit. The dispute could drive consumers to new options that risk changing the face of television.

By Daniel B. Wood and Gloria Goodale,?Staff writers / August 8, 2013

This image provided by CBS shows a CBS advertisement in New York's Times Square on Aug. 2. Three million Time Warner Cable customers in New York, Los Angeles, and Dallas lost access to CBS programming in a fee dispute Friday. The nation's second largest cable operator said that CBS refused to have productive negotiations, which were repeatedly extended after their previous deal expired at the end of June.

As the Time Warner feud with CBS drags on ? now in its seventh day, with many predicting weeks more ? many TV industry watchers say the dispute could signal huge changes in how and what viewers are able to watch on the tube for years to come.

Since last Friday night, 3.5 million viewers in New York, Dallas, and Los Angeles have been cut off from their favorite CBS shows ? from ?Big Bang Theory? to Tiger Woods winning the Bridgestone Invitational. This has followed the breakdown in negotiations between CBS and Time Warner over the fees cable and satellite companies pay broadcasters for the right to carry their channels. CBS reportedly wants double what it is now getting.

?CBS has demanded an outrageous increase for programming that CBS delivers free over the air and online, requiring us to remove their stations from your lineup while we continue to negotiate for fair and reasonable terms,? Time Warner Cable wrote in an on-screen notice to subscribers

CBS responded that Time Warner Cable?s response was ?ill-advised.?

?What CBS seeks, and what we always have sought from the beginning, is fair compensation for the most-watched television network with the most popular content in the world,? CBS said in a statement. ?We will not accept less.?

Analysts say that even as viewers find the dispute distasteful, they should get used to more of the same, because nothing less than the future of television is at stake.

?We should expect to see more blackouts. This is a reflection of the changing economics of broadcast TV,? says Mark Tatge, author of ?The New York Times Reader: Business and Economics.? He says cable companies don't want to pay retransmission fees owed to broadcasters for programs that?were once distributed free over analog airwaves.

Changes in technology will lead to these fees being eliminated, he says. ?What has happened to newspapers is going to happen to local and network TV. Network TV is next. The networks have increasingly become dependent on retransmission fees as a source of revenue as the cable systems have gotten the ad business."

Other analysts say TV consumers are caught in the middle and are being reminded of the profit motives driving the industry. Watch for cable bills to go up, at least in the short term, they say.

?This is a crass reminder that the media business is all about the dollars and the corporations have trouble negotiating sensible deals that keep money flowing for both,? says Jeff McCall, professor of communication at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind.

?This is the kind of dispute that threatens to kill the golden goose, because it hurts the images of both parties and upsets consumers who just want their programs," he aadds.

Still others say that the dispute will open up the industry in ways consumers have never seen, possibly shining a light into the practice of bundling, by which cable companies mandate that subscribers take multiple channels many never watch, just so they can get the ones they do. It may also open the Pandora?s box of scattering viewers to new technologies in ways that won?t be reversed.

Dogs help sniff out ovarian cancer in new study

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Researchers trying to develop a diagnostic tool for ovarian cancer are hoping dogs' keen sense of smell will lead them down the right path.

An early detection device that combines old-fashioned olfactory skills, chemical analysis and modern technology could lead to better survival rates for the disease, which is particularly deadly because it's often not caught until an advanced stage.

Using blood and tissue samples donated by patients, the University of Pennsylvania's Working Dog Center has started training three canines to sniff out the signature compound that indicates the presence of ovarian cancer.

If the animals can isolate the chemical marker, scientists at the nearby Monell Chemical Senses Center will work to create an electronic sensor to identify the same odorant.

"Because if the dogs can do it, then the question is, Can our analytical instrumentation do it? We think we can," Monell organic chemist George Preti said.

More than 20,000 Americans are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year. When it's caught early, women have a five-year survival rate of 90 percent. But because of its generic symptoms - weight gain, bloating or constipation - the disease is more often caught late.

About 70 percent of cases are identified after the cancer has spread, said Dr. Janos Tanyi, a Penn oncologist whose patients are participating in the study. For those women, the five-year survival rate is less than 40 percent, he said.

The Philadelphia researchers will build on previous work showing that early stage ovarian cancer alters odorous compounds in the body. Another study in Britain in 2004 demonstrated that dogs could identify bladder cancer patients by smelling their urine.

Dr. Leonard Lichtenfeld, deputy chief medical officer for the American Cancer Society, said while the canine concept has shown promise for several years, there haven't been any major breakthroughs yet.

"We're still looking to see whether something could be developed and be useful in routine patient care, and we're not there yet," said Lichtenfeld, who is not involved in the study.

Cindy Otto, director of the Working Dog Center, hopes to change that with the help of McBaine, a springer spaniel; Ohlin, a Labrador retriever; and Tsunami, a German shepherd.

"If we can figure out what those chemicals are, what that fingerprint of ovarian cancer is that's in the blood - or maybe even eventually in the urine or something like that - then we can have that automated test that will be less expensive and very efficient at screening those samples," Otto said.

Ovarian cancer patient Marta Drexler, 57, is heartened by the effort. Drexler describes herself as a textbook case of the disease not being detected early enough because she had no symptoms.

After two surgeries and two rounds of chemotherapy, Drexler said she didn't hesitate when Dr. Tanyi, her physician, asked her to donate tissue to the study. Last week, she visited the Working Dog Center to meet the animals whose work might one day lead to fewer battles like hers.

"To have the opportunity to help with this dreadful disease, to do something about it, even if it's just a tiny little bit of something, it's a big thing," said Drexler, of nearby Lansdowne.

The ovarian cancer detection study is being funded by an $80,000 grant from the Madison, N.J.-based Kaleidoscope of Hope Foundation.

18 Ingenious Ways to Catch a Cheating Partner! - Lovepanky

how to catch a cheating partner

Sometimes, you just know it.

You don?t know how, but you feel it in your gut, and something tells you that your partner is cheating on you.

You try confronting your partner about it, but they swat your concerns away and tell you that you?re just being paranoid.

Ever been there?

Are you convinced that your spouse is cheating on you, even though you can?t find any proof of it?

Of course, sometimes you may be going overboard with your paranoia, especially if you?re rather clingy and insecure to begin with.

[Read: 13 clingy girlfriend signs that'll ruin your relationship]

But what if, by some miniscule margin, your instincts do turn out to be right eventually?

The fact that you doubt your partner is a sign that things aren?t all rosy in romance land.

And just suppressing your doubts and fears, and pretending like everything?s perfectly normal won?t help you at all.

In fact, it?ll just tear both of you apart from the inside because there?s no more trust in the relationship.

Is your partner cheating on you?

There are just two ways to get the nagging worry out of your head. One, you talk about it with your lover and get a convincing answer from them. Or secondly, you sneak around discreetly and try to get some proof of your partner?s philandering ways *if any*.

If you feel insecure in a relationship, always talk to your partner and tell them what you feel. Sometimes, it may just be a silly misunderstanding. And communication always helps sort things out, even if one of you is on the verge of looking out for an affair. [Read: The 10 biggest problems in a relationship and ten ways to fix them all]

But if your doubts don?t get erased even after the conversation, then perhaps, the only way to get the real answers is by snooping around and looking for clues when your partner is too busy doing their own thing.

18 ingenious ways to catch a cheating partner

Confronting a serial cheater or a guiltless cheater never helps, because no matter how much you cry or remind them how much you love them, they?re just too selfish to think about anyone but themselves. So instead of confronting your lover every night, take it easy and let your partner assume that all is well and forgotten.

After all, you can?t catch a cheating lover when they?re being cautious and on guard. Just pretend like everything?s normal and watch how your partner behaves around you over the next few weeks.

[Read: 13 secret signs your boyfriend isn't over his ex yet]

[Read: 14 subtle and discreet signs your girlfriend isn't over her ex yet]

Once your partner thinks you don?t suspect them anymore, use these 18 signs and ways to catch a cheating partner to catch your lover in the act!

#1 Watch the signs. Do you see a change in your partner?s behavior recently? Have they started working out, dressing better, or started using a new seductive intense evening perfume? They may have no reason for the changes, and almost always, these changes may seem very spontaneous.

#2 Drop by unannounced. Every now and then, drop by unannounced to their workplace or come back home early. Don?t make it obvious that you?re just spying on them. Instead, always have a great excuse to walk in unannounced. If your partner is cheating on you, the first thing they?d do *instead of welcoming you with a smile* is hide something or appear surprised or even angry! [Read: 3 big reasons and 27 excuses behind why men cheat!]

#3 Check their recycle bin. The garbage is a great place to dispose of things. And sometimes, it also has a lot of clues. If your partner is on the computer often, check the computer?s recycle bin often. Chances are, there may be another person?s photo or a little snippet of information that could be of some use.

#4 Snoop on their phone. Does your partner carry their cell phone with them wherever they go, even if it?s a trip to the loo? If that?s happening in your relationship, there?s a good chance your partner?s up to something. Take a peek into their cell phone when you get the chance, especially when they?ve put the phone on charge.

Erased phone logs, a password protected phone, several calls to the same unknown numbers, or phone bills without detailed call information are all good signs that your partner is trying to hide something. [Read: 25 reasons why women cheat so easily on their man]

#5 Spontaneous sex. This works better if you?re a girl, and dating a guy. If your boyfriend or husband comes home late from any unexpected delay, try to have spontaneous sex with them when they get back home. If your guy gets angry, pushes you away or tries avoiding it at all costs, chances are, he may be exhausted down there. He could always wash himself up before getting home, but getting it up immediately and blowing a huge load, that?s not the easiest thing to do!

#6 Follow after a fight. Most cheating partners intentionally try to pick fights, slam the door and walk away, because it makes a great excuse to slip out of the house and meet their adulterous lover. If your partner?s been picking fights and walking out of the house often recently, try to follow them on the pretense of apologizing *if they see you following them*. [Read: 10 tips to fight fair in love and get closer after a fight]

#7 Change your sleeping habits. If your partner?s cheating on you, their sleeping habits may change almost overnight. They may stay up longer using the excuse of work, or you may catch them sneaking around the house late at night. Pretend like you?re asleep as soon as you hit the bed, and try to see if your partner?s up to something. Do they get out of bed for long periods of time?

And it?s not just late nights you need to think about. Some cheating partners may even wake up really early and get on the phone, especially if they realize you suspect them.

#8 Does your partner want space? Space is something all of us need in a relationship, whether we accept it or not. But has your partner started getting fiercely protective about their space recently? Do they hate answering questions about where they?ve been or what they?ve been up to? It?s definitely a small warning sign. [Read: How to give the right kind of space and prevent your partner from straying]

#9 They get jumpy. Try walking in on your partner when they least expect it without announcing yourself, especially if they?ve been by themselves for a while. Does your partner act jumpy or nervous when you walk in on them, especially if they?re over the phone or in front of their computer? They were probably doing something and they don?t want you to know what it was.

#10 Changes in schedule. All of a sudden, your partner may stay out a lot of nights on work, or have a lot of get-togethers on their social calendar with their friends. If your partner doesn?t ever invite you with their friends, or if they claim to be very busy working and still look fresh and happy when they get home, your partner?s probably up to something.?[Read:?18 emotional affair signs you probably didn't even notice!]

#11 The phone etiquette. Your partner suddenly needs a lot of space while talking over the phone. They either sound awkward or they walk away from you to the next room while talking over the phone with a few people. You may even find text messages from random numbers with random texts in them.

Remember, when people cheat, they could always store the other lover?s number under another name, and use code words to interact with each other when they miss each other!

#12 Gadgets. Your partner has changed most of their passwords, even if you thought you knew all of them. And even when you ask them for the new password, they make an excuse to hide it from you. And sometimes, you may see that they position their computer facing away from you, and they would never do that before. [Confessions: Having an unexpected affair with a married man turned me into a home wrecker!]

#13 Grooming habits. Hitting the gym, wearing new clothes and perfume are all signs your partner wants to look better. But are they going overboard with their appearances? Has your partner started grooming themselves down there meticulously all of a sudden, even though they aren?t keen on doing something with you?

#14 Sneaking away. Does your partner sneak out of the house every now and then, using the silliest of excuses? ?I?m driving down to the store to get something?? ?My friends are catching up around the corner?? ?I?m bored, I?m going for a drive?? or something along those lines?

That?s alright though. But when you offer to tag along, what does your partner say? Do they make an excuse to go alone? That?s fishy, don?t you think? [Read: Emotional cheating and 10 bad ways it can ruin a cheater's life]

4 shady and sneaky unethical ways to catch a cheating lover

Now the earlier 14 signs would definitely help you find out if your partner?s cheating on you with someone else. But if you want to nail them, you?re going to have to catch them in the act. And there?s no way you can do that unless you walk in on your partner with the person they?re cheating on you with. But if you do choose to go spy-mode and use a few unethical ways, here are four ways to nail your partner?s cheating backside in no time.

But try these ways only if you?re already certain your partner?s cheating on you. These steps are great to catch them, but if they aren?t cheating on you and it was just a false alarm, your partner may feel extremely hurt by your actions! [Read: Should you ever confess to cheating on your partner?]

#15 Hidden cameras. Place a spycam in the room where your partner hangs out most often when they want alone time. If they?re over the phone or doing some funny business behind your back, you?ll know soon enough.

#16 Create a fake profile. Create a fake profile and log on to websites that promote cheating spouses and see if your partner?s using one of them. Or for starters, just create a fake facebook profile and add a lot of random friends to make your account seem legitimate.

And then, send an invite to your partner and get friendly with them. And over a few days or weeks, start flirting with them and see how they respond to you. Are they interested in meeting up or hooking up? [Read: Is revenge sex a good way to get back at a cheating partner?]

#17 Keyloggers. Keyloggers are software that you can download off the net *some free and some for a price*. Some of these keyloggers, especially the paid versions, can be installed in a computer and the person using it would never know it?s running in the background.

These programs can record whatever you want, the passwords they use, the letters they type, the pages they visit, or even record a video of the screen as they use the computer. You can also download a few paid apps over your phone and install a secret app in your partner?s phone to keep track of their calls too. [Read: How to end an affair and get over it completely]

#18 GPS device. Are you the one who wants to catch your partner red handed? Then the stalker mode may work for you! Pick up a tiny GPS device that can be fixed to the underside of your partner?s car. You can track their movements and pounce on them when their pants are around their ankles in a sleazy motel out of town! [Read: How to confess to cheating on your partner the right way]

Use these 18 ways on how to catch a cheating partner, and there?s no way a cheater can get away with their adulterous ways. But remember, don?t use the last four ways unless you?re certain your partner?s cheating on you already and you just want to confront them in the act!

Tips To Buying Desirable Real Estate - Maynas Eric

Buying real estate is a big step for anyone, especially for the first time buyer. While the expenses associated with buying real estate can cause stress, this stress can be exacerbated by the impending commitment. Apply the insights in following paragraphs to your real estate hunt, and watch your success skyrocket while your stress falls to earth.

When negotiating with real estate purchases, always use a moderate approach. Many people want to be aggressive and get the best deal, and they wind up shooting themselves in the foot. It is good to be assertive with what you expect, though allow your lawyer and Realtor take care of the negotiations, because they have a lot of experience in this type of work.

Real estate agents should keep in contact with former clients over the holidays and on the anniversaries of their home-buying. Reminding them of their great experience with you is a great idea. At the end of your greeting, tell them that you?re working on a type of referral basis and that you?d appreciate it if they recommended you to some of their friends.

TIP! Try to contact your former clients around the holidays and during anniversaries of their purchases. By keeping in touch, you will remain in the client?s mind for helpfulness when they think about their own real estate experience.

If you have or are planning on having kids, you should look at homes that will have enough room for your family. Review the house for safety concerns as well, especially if the backyard has a pool or the home has stairs indoors or outside. By purchasing a home whose previous owners had children, it should be guaranteed to be safe.

If you?re relocating, there is much information you can find online about your new neighborhood. There are several sites online that give statistics for even the smallest city. To make certain you will have a good future in the town you are considering, be sure to do a little research on such subjects as average salaries, unemployment rates and population growth.

Buying commercial property can be easier if you have a partner that you can trust. Having a partner makes the loan signing go much more smoothly. Having a partner gives you an extra person to help pay the necessary down payment and any needed credit in order to be qualified for a loan.

TIP! Look for a new home that has enough room if you plan on starting a family or already have children. Look into the home?s safety as well.

When shopping for your new home, it is important to consider future needs. Take a family, for example. Although you might not have children yet, that doesn?t mean that you won?t want to start a family in the future. This means you should be focusing on a home?s size, the school district, neighborhood safety, and other important factors of raising a family.

Always have extra funds for unexpected costs when buying a property. The closing costs can usually be calculated by adding the real estate taxes, points and down payment together. However, most of the time, extra things are included in closing costs, such as improvement bonds, school taxes, and other specific items related to the area.

TIP! Be sure to find a partner you can trust to work together with, when buying expensive and large commercial property. This can help you qualify for a better loan in order to purchase the property.

Now that you have the knowledge you need, are you ready to commit to buy? Now that you have read these tips, you should feel more confident in your ability to make wise real estate choices. Apply the suggestions that fit your circumstances to maximize your success. Buying real estate does not have to be a difficult time. It can be exciting to finally own something! Don?t waste money just to own something, though. Consider all the costs and benefits before purchasing a piece of property.

SmugMug (Summer 2013)

In my last review of SmugMug, I noted that its interface looked a bit tired and outdated. Luckily, the photo-hosting site has recently undergone a much-needed face-lift, which does a nice job of bringing it into the Web of the twenty-tens. This update not only brings a new photo organization tool sporting drag-and-drop that makes for a definite improvement in working with the site, but it also offers slick new photo gallery options. Let's see if these changes are enough for SmugMug to win the honor of becoming your photo-hosting site.

If you're looking for a customizable gallery site for your digital photos, or want to try to sell images online, SmugMug is a very capable option. But unlike the best-known photo hosting and sharing site, Flickr, there's no free option with SmugMug: Though you won't see a price list until after you've created a trial account, you'll pay a minimum of $40 a year for a basic account with unlimited uploading, and $150 a year for a Portfolio account, which adds commerce options like the ability to sell digital download and collect profits via electronic transfer.

It's hard to compete with the terabyte of free storage that you get with Flickr, and impossible to compete with the huge photo-sharing community on Yahoo's photo site, but some photographers will overlook the cost, preferring SmugMug's totally ad-free presentation and the ability to customize their gallery pages. Existing SmugMug account holders have the options of sticking with the old interface, previewing the new one privately, or switching over wholesale. If you do make the switch, you'll lose any advanced customizations you made in the old version, and once you do migrate, there's no going back.

Signup and Setup
SmugMug does offer a free 15-day trial, and thankfully, this doesn't require credit card info. You can sign up either by entering and email address or through Facebook Connect. Right when you first sign up, you get a personalized URL in the form yourname.smugmug.com. Next, you name your gallery by choosing a category for it (over 60 choices, from Airplanes to Zoos, with Births and Funerals in between.) Or you can create a category name of your own. The gallery gets its own URL, using a slash after your main one.

Your homepage in SmugMug by default shows your user picture and any biographical info you've supplied, followed by thumbnails for your galleries. You can add horizontal entries for slideshows, individual large photo views, communities, a keyword tag cloud, or most popular or recent photos. You can easily move any of these sections up and down on your homepage?now using drag-and-drop. It's more configurable than Flickr or Picasa's, but one basic behavior I prefer in those two competitors is that the main site URL takes you to your own gallery dashboard page; in SmugMug, it takes you to SmugMug's advertisement page.

Uploading
Like Flickr, SmugMug offers drag-and-drop uploading on its site if you're using an HTML5-compliant browser. SmugMug didn't let me add tags, assign photosets, or rotate photos in the Web uploader the way Flickr did, but it does show a progress bar and let you pause uploading. Both services give you the option of uploading via an email address in addition to the Web method.

If you use software like Adobe Photoshop Lightroom or Apple Aperture, though, none of that matters, since both services have included publish exporters. SmugMug does offer a good deal of third-party integration, but most apps, such as the popular iPhone image editors are more likely to have built-in uploading to Facebook and Flickr than to SmugMug, and Flickr's flourishing App Garden makes SmugMug's look tiny.

After you upload images to a SmugMug gallery, you're simply taken to the gallery page. Here I could rate or comment on a photo, and a wrench icon below it offered editing and organizing options. The Photo Details choice here let me add a title, caption, and keywords. The only organize choices were Make a Copy, Hide, and Replace. An even bigger missing tagging component is SmugMug's lack of face tagging, for which both Picasa and Flickr offer strong implementations.

Obama to sign student loan deal keeping rates low

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Students heading back to college this fall will save thousands in interest charges on their loans after they graduate once President Barack Obama signs into law a rare bipartisan compromise.

The president is scheduled to sign the deal Friday at the White House, ending a frenzied summer of negotiations to restore lower interest rates before millions of college students move back into the dorms.

About 11 million students this year are expected to have lower interest rates, the average undergraduate saving $1,500 on interest charges on this year's loans.

The legislation links student loan interest rates to the financial markets. It restores lower rates this fall but could yield higher costs if the economy improves in the years ahead.

Undergraduates this fall would borrow at a 3.9 percent interest rate.

Boosting Your Business With Internet Marketing Inspiration

Copyright ? 2013 Alex Jacob

If you want to succeed online, you need an excellent plan. Internet marketing is probably the most important part of that plan; if no one knows that you have a website, how can they visit it? Here are some effective ways to do internet marketing that will make you an online success.

If you start a thread on somebody?s forum or leave a post on your blog, make sure you address every legitimate response you receive. Skipping someone?s response can cause you to lose them as a reader, especially if you?re responding to other people but not them. It only takes a few minutes and it makes your visitors feel good.

Tell everyone you know and meet about your website anytime you get the chance. Word-of-mouth advertising can be very powerful because people love to talk. So tell every single person with whom you come in contact. This includes your neighbors, the mailman, and the clerks at the grocery store. No one is off limits.

Adopt a personal approach and show your excitement for your new products or discounts. When someone considers buying something, make sure that they read they have made the best choice and that you?re excited for them.

Savvy internet marketers double-check the email addresses they get from potential clients by using two lines of opt-in strategy. The first line is getting website visitors to surrender their email address. Then by soliciting a response ? through an email newsletter offering a small but valuable freebie, perhaps ? website owners can get their visitors to verify their own addresses.

Writing with spice can be what makes your internet marketing site stand out from all the rest and give your visitors the feeling that they want to come back again and again. Use strong verbs to get your point across. Add some superlative adjectives. Make your site stand out from the rest.

Great Internet marketing requires an analytical mind to a certain extent, so be prepared to crunch numbers and view charts and graphs. This doesn?t mean you have to be an A student of this type of material, but you will have to familiarize yourself with numbers and percentages dealing with site rankings, traffic numbers, click rates, and other numbers.

Provide proof that your product or service is the best, by having previous customers give testimonials or reviews. Add them to your website so that potential customers can see these testimonials. Once they see the positive reviews, this will help them in deciding which company to choose for any of their future needs.

An important tip regarding Internet marketing is to devote a section of your site?s home page either suggesting that visitors bookmark your site, or provide a button that will automatically add it to their browser. This is important in case you have a URL that is difficult to remember, and to increase your visitation return rate.

Use these tips to bolster your marketing efforts, and you?re going to have a business to be reckoned with. An internet marketing plan can create opportunities that you don?t expect, so make sure you keep learning about different ways to market yourself online. You?ll see the results you want to see.

McKinsey beats Google, Facebook for having the toughest interviews

Job candidates seeking employment at consulting firm McKinsey & Company better prepare themselves -- it ranked as the toughest company to interview at in a recent report, well ahead of big-name technology players like Google, Microsoft and Facebook.

McKinsey was bestowed the title of distinction for the third time in a row, as part of Glassdoor's third annual ranking of the "top 25 most difficult companies to interview," released Friday. Rounding out the top five, in order, were ThoughtWorks, a software design company; Boston Consulting Group, a management consulting firm; technology research company Gartner; and Bain & Company, the management consulting firm once led by Mitt Romney.

Google, which has a reputation for leading job candidates through a grueling interview process chock-full of brain-teaser questions with many numbers of managers, placed eighth on the list. Microsoft and Facebook were ranked 16th and 22nd, respectively.

The most represented industries in the ranking were technology, with 11 companies listed, and consulting, with four.

To explain the results, some of the common themes found by Glassdoor included multiple rounds of interviews; multiple levels of testing, from online tests to math tests to case study testing; and tough questions about algorithms, problem solving and data structures, Glassdoor spokeswoman MaryJo Fitzgerald said.

The ranking was culled from 170,000 interview reviews submitted to Glassdoor's site during the past 12 months. Companies needed to have reviews coming from at least 20 people -- rating both their interviews and the company as a whole -- to be considered for the list. Interview difficulty ratings were based on a 5-point scale, with 1 being "very easy" and 5 being "very difficult."

Both McKinsey and ThoughtWorks obtained an average difficulty rating of 3.9.

Job candidates could leave an interview review anonymously even if they were not hired.

McKinsey declined to comment on the results or explain its interviewing process.

The company's website, though, details two different types of interviews -- "experience" interviews and "case" interviews -- and also a problem-solving test that many candidates also complete. The case interviews use case studies of typical McKinsey business problems to assess how well candidates can think about and deal with complex issues.

One practice case study on the company's website, for instance, looks at strategic advice and evaluation of a pharmaceuticals acquisition.

Math tests during McKinsey's interviews, meanwhile, have been compared to the graduate management admission test or the GMAT, Glassdoor's Fitzgerald said.

The multi-layered approach to screening job candidates is not surprising, because common job titles at the consulting companies listed in the ranking can earn handsome base salaries, according to Glassdoor. For McKinsey, Glassdoor cites a starting salary of US$127,000.

Pink panther

Crime

A diamond hidden in a jar of face cream. Heists carried out in broad daylight. Mission Impossible-style makeup used as disguise and limousines crashing through store windows.?

It's the work of the Pink Panthers, a network of criminals suspected of pulling off some of the most brazen diamond heists in history. They are seemingly untouchable and vanish without a trace. And they are suspected of stealing more than $100 million worth of diamonds in just the past month.

Their methods are daring and quick. In July, a lone thief walked into a diamond exhibition at a luxury hotel in Cannes. In just 60 seconds, investigators say, he walked out with $138 million worth of jewels. The heist was carried out during the day, and, incredibly, the robber fell down when he jumped out of a hotel window but still managed to hold on to the loot and escape.

The wild move happened at the same hotel featured in Alfred Hitchcock's film "To Catch a Thief."

Days later, a jewelry store on the French Riviera was targeted. Investigators believe it could be the work of the Pink Panthers.

FBI Special Agent Dan McCaffrey, a diamond expert who tracks Pink Panther heists, said some of the diamonds taken in the Cannes caper are extremely rare and valuable. More than 20 jewels were 30 carats.

McCaffrey said the Pink Panthers are known for attention to detail and planning every step of the job?including how they will unload the stolen goods. He added that their goal is to get rid of diamonds as quickly as possible, and in past Pink Panther thefts, FBI agents have recovered stolen diamonds in the United States just days after they were lifted from jewelry stores in Europe.

According to McCaffrey, the resale diamond business is huge, and New York City is the epicenter for the diamond trade. There are more wholesalers and retailers on 47th Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues than anywhere else in the country?with billions of dollars flowing through the area at any given moment. He said many stolen diamonds have surfaced in New York?some of which are sold to unknowing customers.

The international network of thieves got the name Pink Panthers from police, after the diamond in the film comedies starring Peter Sellers.

But investigators say the glamour romanticized in film is very far from reality.?

McCaffrey describes the Pink Panthers as violent criminals who target and hurt people.

When members are caught, he said, agents are always shocked to see how tawdry their lives really are. Many live in small apartments without contact with their families. Most don't own cars and are always on the run from authorities.
